Born on 21-7-1887 in Schaufling, died in Munich on 26-6-1976. He was a painter from the southern German province of Bavaria. Studied art at the Fine art Academy in Munich under guidance of professors Halm, Karl v. Marr, Wilhelm Seitz and Becker Gundhal. During the Great war 1914-1918, he was a war artist in the Flanders and Macedonia, where he lost fingers in his left arm. His paintings can be found in the Architecture Museum in Munich and the Leonardi Museum.
His painting: “Mazedonische Madchen in Landestracht 1917 – Mazedonien, Prilep” (Macedonian girl in traditional costume 1917 – Macedonia, Prilep”) was sold by the auction house Hans Stahl Hamburg on 28 Sep 2002 (lot number 7). A watercolor with the landscape of Prilep in 1917 appeared on Ebay.de in August 2009. The private art collection of the author of this book has gouache/watercolor compositions “Ohrid – view from St. Klement church 1916“ and “Prilep 1917”
