Little known French painter. He was professor at the Gymnasium in Bordeaux (Lycée de Bordeaux). He was a student of Cormon at the Fine art academy in Paris (l’école des Beaux-Arts de la rue Bonaparte à Paris), where he drawn and painted portrait on the street to pay for the academy costs.
There are several oil on canvas and watercolor paintings made in the year of the Great war from Aegean Macedonia, signed “Andre Vidal”. He was probably a soldier at the Army of the orient and visited Florina (Lerin), Vodena (Voden) and other places near today’s Greek-Macedonian border. One such painting, entitled “ Women of village Buf near Florina” is on sale by the fine art gallery Patrick Boutillier (27 avenue de la gare, Saint-Sébastien 23160 , France). Also watercolor entitled Vodena, Macedonia, was sold on Ebay .
