Born on 01.11.1881 in Berlin, died on 25.01.1968 in Weimar. He was German painter and sculptor. His art studies begun in 1896 at the Handwork School in Berlin, later at the State Art School between 1901 and 1903 and finally at the Royal Art Academy in Berlin, in the class of prof. Franz Markau visited Macedonia first in the period 1917-18 as a soldier and later in the period around 1945. Several tempera and oil paintings made around 1917 and 1918 are listed in his catalogue of his works.
